Name: "Reneson"
Breed: Labrador
Age: 8 Months
Sex: Male

"Reneson" came in early one morning as an emergency. While on the way to school, "Reneson" was left in his crate in the back of the van. His lead was still attached. His lead was a 15 foot lead. He ate approximately 12 feet of it.
When he arrived, we induced vomiting. We recovered about 9 feet of the lead. We then took an abdominal x-ray that revealed more lead was still in the stomach. "Reneson" then passed another 2 to 3 feet of lead along with the handle of a retrieving dummy and some bone chips.
Luckily, surgery was avoided. Surgery would have been a very costly procedure. In some cases this could also be fatal to your pet.
When crated, do not leave leads on. If your dog in known to chew, do not leave toys and other objects in their crates. Younger dogs are more likely to chew.
